In the beginning of this CNC-guided venture, I faced a few structural problems with my CNC table. After adding 30 pounds of weight in 3 heavy duty gearboxes, I had a lot of movement in my X and Y axes. Let’s look at what I did to my gantry using the technology I had available: a plasma-cutting CNC table!
The gantry is the beam that stretches across the table. Two steel plate arms hold up the gantry. I had too much wobble along the length of the gantry.
I took some pictures, traced the corners for gussets, cut them out, welded them on, and painted later on.
No more wobble!
